My father has many reasons why he does not smoke in his life now. Ten years ago he used to smoke. Now he does not smoke in his life. First, smoking is not good for health. Second, it can waste  his money for useless thing. Third, he has ever gotten heart attack because of smoking. Last, based on his opinion, smoking can not make him satisfied such as he eats food. Those are  the reasons why he does not smoke in his life now , because smoking has negative effect than positive effect.
